The tranny should be fine. The number system with Ford tranny's is the numbers of "gears" and the torque rating of the trans. 6R80 = 6-speed rated to 800ft/lbs of torque. The Lightning had a 4R100 which = 4-speed 1000ft/lbs. Etc.
