I have a Retrax on my Raptor and a BakFlip on my F-350. The Retrax can be pushed open, even when locked. The BakFlip could probably be pried open using a crowbar fairly easily. I would not recommend either if you're really concerned with break-ins. From What I have seen, @John M is referencing the most secure solution with the Diamondback. That solution, for my needs, isn't ideal due to the way it opens if I need items to stick out like bike tires or wood/plywood.

I know. Then I start looking into caps which are around 4k but run into other problems too. I think i will just wait until I actually get the truck in person and put my gear inside and determine what I need from there.

Having used both, which would you recommend Retrax or BakFlip for a Raptor bed?
Diamondback, lol:pepper:
When I have stuff that will stick out it takes 2 min to remove the panel.
5 gallon water jugs (Vegas Sewer Water is un-drinkable) stick out because of my CargoGlide but I just throw a bungee from lid to Recovery hook ;)

I had the extang (tri-fold) and moved to a retrax. I hated the extang. Removing the whole thing was a pain due to the weight and the fact that the thing would burn my hands in the Texas heat. Folding it upon itself would damage the cover because the latches would just flop all over the place. And the latch closed to the cab was always coming loose.

Retrax is so much easier to deal with. It does take up some space in the bed, but I've never really had an issue with that. Never need to removed since it just rolls away. I don't have the aluminum version, so you could probably break in fairly easy, but hasn't happen yet. It's very easy to use with lumber or such sticking out since I can just roll back the part exposed. I use it with a bed extender in the inside, and 2x4s in between the bed extender bars and somewhat pinned downed by the roll top and tailgate....aren't going anywhere.

Thanks for sharing, I'm leaning heavily towards the Retrax as well.

A few questions if you don't mind....

The website says "Auto-opening the tailgate via key fob may not work." Is this true for the raptor?
I am looking at the SE not HD. Did you get any rear sag on the coils installing the HD?
I have no issues opening or closing unless I have a load on top. Then I have to assist it a little..
