I had the weather tech trifold for my last two F150s and they have been great. 99.9% water tight unles you spray a jet of water directly at the seals but for standard rain and environment, dry.

Plus it holds 400 lbs which I have taken advantage of and it only weighs 50 lbs.

Their warranty is awesome. The v1 version had an issue with the folding seal, contacted them and they gave me a brand new one after 2 years.

Plus 100% American made, he treats his employees awesome and truly supports the local community. David supports all motorsports and is always supporting US based items. Makes it an easy choice to spend my money locally
The weathertech is not made by them .. it is made by Lomax who is owned by Agricover. It is made in North Dakota.

From Weathertech's website ... The fact is they are made for us by an expert American company, to our specifications, right here in America. Our contract with our supplier requires us to offer a 3 year warranty on our AlloyCover Hard Tri-Fold Truck Bed Covers, which of course we do.

Look at the Lomax cover and you will see many similarities

I considered it but will probably buy this one once my truck gets delivered

I was interested in the retractibles but they take up too much space .. I have 12' rigid kayaks that will be carried in the bed and given that the raptor is only 5'7" vs my current 6'6"', I need every inch of length. I have a Truxedo soft roll-up on my current truck. The first one lasted 12 years and then the rubber seals deteriorated and Truxedo sent me a new one under lifetime warranty. Previously had a tri-fold on another truck and it worked great even with some really rough off-roading.

I'm going with a trifold over the soft rollup becuase I want more secure storage in the bed. I like the concept of Undercover's rear seal and side rails that channel water. Unlikely I will ever have to prop it up ... If going for a load of bark/gravel/dirt, I'll just remove it which will take a few minutes.

I have a bi-fold and a tri-fold on two other trucks that are made exactly like the one you linked. After a small branch fell on my son's truck and dented the cover in 3 places, I think I have decided on the Lomax/Weathertec cover. Thicker metal and it's sharp.

What would be considered the most secure cover? I'm in a scenario with theft on long expeditions with tools and other items. I would not want to unload and reload each morning at a different hotel stop. Is it the Diamond Back?

I would assume anything metal will be more secure than the FRP with aluminum frame, like the Tri fold that ford sells. Unfortunately they weigh more. I think both the renegade which I love the versatility on that one or the diamondback. are both 120 - 140 lbs instead. not really sure what the retractable weigh but I think the trifold from ford is bout 50-60. That extra weight just makes it that much harder to remove by yourself if needed.

Nice choice! I went with the Undercover Ultra. I like how it doesn’t lean against the cab when folded up. Had this on my 17 Raptor and never had any issues.

I still haven’t pulled the trigger on my next cover, and now I’m stepping back from the retrax simply because it takes up so much space in an already short bed. It’s also twice the price of the MX4 which seems crazy to me. I also don’t know that I like the Lomax trifold as it requires connecting parts to the roof of your truck.

So I’m back leaning towards the MX4 or the Ultra Flex. I’m more familiar with BAK since that’s what I currently have, so I may just go with it again in the latest version.
