So when i was considering an aftermarket exhaust just after I purchased my 2019 SCAB a little over a year ago, I was concerned about warranty consequences so I contacted my dealer to ask if there would be an issue with me installing it. After speaking with someone in service, she was kind enough to send me this Ford document that covers alot of aftermarket parts and their possible effects on warrantied parts. Its meant to be used as a guide by Ford service people on how to spot aftermarket parts and how they can affect different parts and essentially give Ford ammo to void your warranty. Interestingly enough, when I asked if I purchased the "Ford Performance" exhaust AND had it installed by a Ford technician if it would void the warranty, the answer was still YES.
I think you will find it interesting and useful, my apologies if it has already been posted before and is old news. I also hope that its not a top secret Ford document and I dont get in trouble for posting it.

Enjoy.

Thanks for posting this. When I was on the Focus RS forum someone shared a similar document. This helps people make educated decisions about modding or not.

Yea, really makes you think twice (not for long tho) about doing any serious modding. Have to really wonder if its truly worth it. Guess you have to pick and choose your mods carefully or be prepared to get shafted.

For sure. I will say, my local dealer is a FRPP dealer. They have always been pretty friendly with FRPP parts, as long as they installed them.

If someone decides to mod their vehicle they really should be familiar with Magnusson-Moss, because if the mod didn’t cause the problem it is their protection.

Does the ignition counter reset only on flashing ECM or also if battery is disconnected?

True, however, it's really only powerful if the mere mention of it is enough to get your way. Otherwise you have to lawyer up and fight the dealer/ford to not void your warranty, which kind of defeats the purpose.

The car modification warranty stuff is discussed ad nauseam. The reality is that a significant chunk of performance vehicles have mods on them especially exhausts, intakes, and suspension stuff. Never heard of anyone having major warranty issues for this basic stuff.

They have to prove the aftermarket part caused the issue to deny your warranty. If you have a cam phaser issue or whatever your exhaust won't be an issue.

Now you tune an engine or slap a supercharger on an NA mustang yes your drivetrain repairs will more than likely be funded by you.

I think it also differs from dealership as well. Some may be more of sticklers. I had an issue with my suspension, twice. Both times I took it in they never mentioned or noticed that I had installed Eibach front springs on my ‘19 Raptor. They did initially try to say the problem was due to my Rigid fog lights being wired in, even though they were wired to the Auxiliary plug in wires. This was a smaller Ford dealership and haven’t had much interaction with a Raptor. Probably why they seemed to not know much about them or how to spot aftermarket parts. Just my $.02

Good stuff. Just to be clear though, from everything I understand modifications cause specific things not to be covered under warranty, but don't void the whole warranty. If I install an exhaust and my left headlight fails that would still be covered.
