My understanding is the extra +2 or +3 is for the line that goes from the rear axle connection up to the bed connection so suspension droop would matter.

this line ^^^^^

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

Haven't received my set yet, but what are the brake fitting sizes? I was thinking about getting a set of flare nut wrenches if it made sense. Wasn't sure to get SAE or metric. Any advice would be appreciated. This will be my first brake line replacement/bleed so I want to make sure I have the right tools on hand before I start.

The fronts dont need any flaring. I tried doing the rears and they both needed to be flared. I just saved the frustration after getting covered in brake fluid and took it to my local mechanic...cost 200 bucks

@cubiefan101. I guess I was really trying to figure out what size line wrenches I needed. I wasn't aware that any flaring was required on a 2011 which is what I have.

I thought in reading all the posts that only the newer 2013 and 2014 needed to be flared in the rear if you wanted to do the full six piece swap. I was under the impression that the 2010, 2011 and some 2012s were a direct swap and no flaring is needed. See page 12, the older models shouldn't require any flaring for install of the four lines in the back. I don't have mine yet for my 2011 but based on the pics a 2010 or 2011 should be a full six piece swap and there should be no need for the rear to be flared.

All i know is that i tried doing mine and the hard line didnt sit right and tight in the ss lines and resulted in minor dripping. I took mine to my mechanic and it looks like they flared them.

I just got a UPS notification that mine should arrive on Friday. I guess the verdict is still out on flaring and I guess nobody knows the size of the nuts used on the brake line connections. I've seen via Google that it's mainly 3/8 and 7/16. Can anyone confirm that?

The red looks really good!!! However, I don't know how much off roading you do, but I'd definitely think about rotating that line around some. It's gonna get hooked on something or a big chunk of mud or snow or ice is going to clean that line right off. Seems like there's a lot of extra line.....

Looks like i can rotate the lines coming off the caliper to face downwards. The old lines only allowed me to place them in one direction. Now ive got a project for sunday
