...Is Ford having reps openly on forums a new thing? (I haven't seen it before)...

Hiya, WhatExit?!

Ford's Social Media team has been around for about three and a half years, give or take. We have folks on forums like these, Facebook, and Twitter. I keep an eye on the trucks, for the most part, but I occasionally pop up on other forums to help out, as needed. I primarily handle customer service concerns, but we do have marketing-specific agents on Twitter - just send a tweet to @FordService and they'll say hello!

And yes, I've been in a Raptor, but I've never owned one. Kind of a life-changing moment being in one of those rigs. :)

Welcome, are you part of FCSD?

Sure am, Specracer!

Welcome Crystal. Love that your here. Hope you can take a joke, a jab, and maybe a rabid raptor owner from time to time, and most of all, provide timely, honest feedback...

I think we're gonna get along just fine, 6gun. I'm here to help however I can, but a little good-natured fun is right up my alley. :)

@ Crystal.... how's it feel to be the only one besides bird to get paid to surf FRF?...

It feels fantastic, Yukon Joe. I'm one of those lucky people who get to say that they love their job. :)

You're welcome, BobbyVA! Good seeing you around!

Korbendallas already referred you to this thread ( http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f52/differential-fluid-change-do-i-need-friction-modifier-31358/) but I'd like to do so as well.

The manuals (both the F150 Owner's Manual and the Raptor Supplement) for the 2010 and 2011 models specify 75W-140 gear oil with 4 ounces of friction modifier for the rear axel. In complete contrast, the manuals for the later models specify 75W-85 gear oil and make no mention of friction modifier.

As the Raptor has a mechanically locking differential, we have collectively come to the conclusion that the use of friction modifier is not necessary. What remains is the proper weight gear oil. Can you please find out if the differentials for the earlier models are the same as the later models? And can you please find out whether the 75W-95 specification supersedes the earlier 75W-140 specification, and why? We have spent a lot of time and energy working on this, and the only resolution to the question needs to come from the manufacturer. Several of us are pretty technical, so the most complete and informative response will be most appreciated and will engender fewer secondary questions. If you don't mind, please post your response here and at the referenced thread.

Thank you for your interest and help, and welcome aboard!

Welcome! I guess the big question is... what can you tell us about the future of the Raptor past 2014?

Thank you very much, Crystal. I would say that at least half of us do our own maintenance, and the rest would want to double-check what a dealer uses. The response you provide will be of interest and benefit to all!
