Stopped doing that as soon as I got out of the army. Still roll clothes up when I pack a bag to go on a trip. Kinda freaked out my wife first time she seen me do that. Explained old army habits die hard.

1 - Rolled, but not in a dresser drawer technically. In a wooden box in the closet. There are reasons.

2 - Facing the same direction, but don't care about spacing. Don't care about which direction the clothes are facing, if that was the question. For spare hangers not in used, they are separated by type though. Different hangers for shirts and pants.
3 - No.
