Yeah I'm also gonna echo everybody's thoughts and say I wouldn't try it. A little over tow rating in one thing, 1 or 2 tons is something completely different. I'd buy a cheap used superduty, the 7.3L would be good, or get a lighter bumper pull trailer.

Plus, good luck trying to turn and not snack the back of the cab when turning. A 6 foot box, in my opinion, is too short for a 5th wheel type of towing. You ideally want a 8 foot box so you don't have to worry about coming into contact with the cab. Also makes for a better ride as well.

Yeah, that sounds right. Max tongue weight on a Ranger is 600 lbs. with a weight dist. jack. The Raptor is twice that.

Which, 1200 lbs. exceeds the max. payload capacity so I'm not 100% sure that number is correct. The max tongue weight probably maxes out at the max payload capcity, but then you wouldn't be able to drive it or take any shit with you. :)

The Raptor is plenty up to the task but the Raptor's suspension is not set up for it. Get airbags. Run them at a super low psi when not towing. If you're not getting completely crazy stock airbags would probably work. If you wanna get nuts with airbags you could always step up to SDHQ's long travel airbag kit.

Some sand cars with much more travel than a Raptor use airbags. It should not be a huge problem

Have you towed a gooseneck or fifth wheel with a 5.5 bed. It requires a special hitch that swivels and moves so you don't crush the cab when backing into places.
