Thanks Noah. I'll try other devices to rule out a truck issue. Will that possibly be fixed once I hook up nav tv? Not sure what iOS I had when I tried it, but I have 9.2.1 now. ******* Apple guys! @oxfordraptor

not necessarily. nav-tv just allows video in motion, doesnt do anything to the software if you are having video issues

Camera source sell's this kit with Crux and it can be used with other ones too. https://camera-source.com/crux-vcip5-hdmi-to-composite-conversion-harness.html you need also Lightning digital AV adapter with Apple like Noah said. There is lot of restrictions with Apple thats why i use Android with lockpic.

Edit:
I found this thread when i had my mirroring phase going on Successfully mirroring Android onto My Ford Touch 8" Screen - Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans

I mirror my Android phone to my chromecast at home all the time. I'm going to get a HDMI to composite converter and give this a shot.

Let us know how it goes, it would be nice addition to someone using NAVTV.

I don't see a way to get the chromecast to work without a wifi connection. The originating device must also be connected to the same network as the chromecast so I tried using my phone as a hot spot, but wifi must be disabled and the chromecast was no longer discoverable.

It should work if you use a 4G device as a hot spot and connect the chromecast and device you want mirrored to that network. I'm not sure what performance to expect and I'm also not sure if it would impact the data usage of the hot spot.
