What are some good value mods to get right away?

I have about a grand to spend on some mods.

My brother is going to spray the bed with Rhino line for 140
I'm going to get a set of Weathertech floot mats 200
I was thinking of a rigid 20" light bar, but that's about a 7/10 on a want scale and I've seen those are around 500-550

I was thinking about getting some mud flaps, have my brother paint them red for no cost

Anyone else have any good ideas that isn't too expensive?

The wicked performance dead pedal kit is good bang for your buck. Functional and also really improves the way your interior looks. I think its $89.

Outlaw racing hood light mounts with some of cheap HIDs or LEDs is another good one that'll run around $300.

As was mentioned an exhaust cutout is another good one that'll run you about $200 or so.

And what exactly does this do? And cost?

I don't plan on taking this thing offroad that much.

If you get off road and start pushing the limits of the Raptor, i.e., high speed jumps, etc., you could bend the frame from excessive impact at the bump stop. RPG's Stage 2 will greatly help this situation and can actually straighten the frame if you had bent it a small amount. I believe that the RPG Stage 2 is about $1,500. They also offer further suspension upgrades that will make the Raptor a completely different truck. Check out their vendor section and read the threads and look into their site.

But if you don't plan of pushing the Raptor limits off road, it might just be unnecessary insurance/performance potential.

Look at the various CAI's available. And read the treads in the performance sections for other members' comments on their experiences.

Have your brother spray the rear wheel wells as well as the bed.

I recommend replacing the long factory radio whip with a 17 inch model. The shorter whip won't bang on your garage door as you enter and leave.

Fog lights. I don't know why a $40k+ vehicle of any description doesn't even have an option for fog lights, but every Raptor needs them.

SDHQ has a frame strengthening kit for $100 that bolsters the rear frame right at the bump stop where there is a potential for bending the frame. My kit is due for delivery tomorrow, and installing it is my Saturday morning project.

Don't waste your money on floor mats to replace perfectly servicable factory mats.
