Might look a little goofy, but you could get some light wheels (17") and drag radials for the rear (28" diameter or so).
The unsprung weight reduction should save you a couple or more tenths.

Method's are pretty light for what they are. Drag radials would be helpful of course but with the added traction, wheel hop will become massively more amplified......then you're letting off the gas and negating any benefits from the tire. Plus, you'd throw an abs light if you don't have the same size tire on the front.

Considering the front end is about aerodynamic as a barn door. Dont think folding in the mirrors will make that much difference.

No offense Reptar.. I could be dead wrong.

I know you know you're shit Reptar but, this is what I was thinking as well. With the Raptor already being so aerodynamicly lacking, I don't see the folded mirrors being as effective. Definitely some things that can be tried though.

While yes the Raptor is less Aerodynamic than the Lightning/Harley Truck, a L/HD is still racing a barn door. It's like one is racing a cinder block wall and the other is racing a brick wall :ROFLJest: Trust me it will make a difference. It's not worth seconds or 10 mph, but it could shave off several hundreths and is known to pickup 1-2 mph in L's/HD's. Whats the surface area of the new truck mirrors? 6"x8" or something like that? Try taking something that large and holding it 1 foot out the window at 90 mph and see how it wants to rip out of your hands. Thats a lot of force wasted holding the truck back.

At least on the Gen 2L/HD's, running different tires sizes front and rear won't upset the ABS at all or throw a light.

And again for the mirrors, it's the unaerodynamic ones that it helps on. You're taking two giant protruding things off the side of the truck out of the air path. If it were a super sleek aerodynamic drag car, with proportionally sized mirrors, it probably wouldn't shed 2 mph or gain several hundreths. But a big truck with big dumb ears, I think you'll see a gain.

Go get your butt beat a few times on the track (and possibly kick some butt as well), but then take them to the dunes/rocks/hills/beach/etc and show them what that truck can really do. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a highway trip for an extended period of time (100 miles or so) of flat ground, I folded in the mirrors and gained like 1.5mpg. I think I posted about that a long time ago.

Due to a slight over sight on my part (I have not had anything worth taking to a track for some time and moving away and the moving back to Angelo)...

San Angelo Dragway's Website

The Drag Strip closed... :-(

Sorry guys, maybe when I visited San Antonio I will run it.
