So I ordered some glassworks fenders through insurance after I crashed my truck, thinking that insurance would cover most of the cost. They are covering the cost of the parts, but none of the labor....and apperently these glassworks fenders dont line up so the shop wants an extra $1000 just in labor to get the fenders lined up. I'm just wondering what other people are paying to have these fenders installed, because these labor costs seem way to high!

Happy new years! and hopefully i'll have my truck back soon!

Are you doing all 4 fenders?
Do you already have the parts from Glassworks?

Wow it kinda looks like they didn't even try to get the fenders on there! Thy shouldn't stick out that far and with these glass fenders you're not gonna have wheel well liners so they should take this out of there. There's a lot of Gus on here that have done these in their own driveway it's not that much labor really just some
Sanding to line up the gaps and all. I'd be calling them out on this looks like they're trying to milk it!

+100 on that, it looks like they are trying to milk it or they have no idea how to do the bodywork required to get that done.

Even I can spot the halfassedness of those pics. If they are behing honest it screams "we have never done fiberglass work before, we just bolt on body parts from the factory".

Yea even glassworks will tell you these aren't direct bolt on it requires some adjusting sanding and aligning I'd definitely tell them to get their shit together and stop BS you!

you guys are brutal! shop is getting paid to put bolt on fenders which they have done 1000 times...now you throw something new at them that isnt a direct fit. 1000 bucks my seem alot but they have no ide whats involved. Way i figure is 2 extra days per each bumper @ 250 per day....not that unreasonable.

Even for someone who doesn't do stuff like this for a reason it's only taken then a day to get these fenders on sanded and aligned now a shop that knows what they're doing ad does bodywork shouldn't have to big of a problem with this they should be able to get this done fast even if they have to look up how to install them lol! I don't know maybe it's just
Me but that's really high even with paint included

YOu guys got to figure the body shop is charging based on hourly labor. Those fenders are junk everyone knows this, it is a custom ob with a lot of trial and error and sanding and smoothing. This is not how body shops make their money, like was said this is not like bolting a couple of OEM fenders and making a slight shim adjustment. Yes, it may be a project that we can do in out garage with a littl bit of time and fitting, but we are not being paid for our trial and error like a body shop is. Your lucky to get anything done at a bodyshop these days for less than a grand.

It doesn't matter if you spend 1000 bucks or not, they won't get those fenders to align like the factory ones, they are not designed to fit like that. Just saying, maybe meet them half way with the price.
