I'm a new Raptor owner in the Midwest, Northern Indiana to be specific. I'm looking to get my feet wet with two day trips on trails. I would like to start with mostly gravel and dirt roads in back woods with a few optional sections with beginner to intermediate skill requirements. I have decades of 2 wheel motorized and unmotorized experience, but obviously only a fractional percentage of that translates to the 4 wheel world.

I would appreciate guidance and advice based on direct experience with trails. The Kentucky Adventure Trail and Georgia Traverse look particularly interesting, but I'd hate to get in over my head and cause problems for others coming up the trail behind me.

I currently do not have a winch installed and really see that as a necessity, especially if I am unable to coordinate a trip with another off-roader to join me. I plan to install a winch, but the cost, including intercooler relocation, requires a bit more financial planning. I'll do it, but at approximately $2.5k, not on a whim.

This leaves me with two questions.
1) What 2-day, overnight trail sections would you suggest in the Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee areas meeting the above conditions?
2) What is the best way to find others interested in the same off-road adventure? I know, you will probably say use this FRF forum, and that's fine.

Thanks in advance for any help. I appreciate it.

and use the damn search feature.....
I did, over many nights. I did my homework before resorting to a "how does a newbie get started" post. Please consider granting newbies a bit more latitude. I'm new to this forum, but have plenty of experience in online forums over the years. I know how to study before I post.
