IMO: Generals rock for the dirt. Mine lasted 2 Raptor runs and I abused the living **** out of them without a single flat. On the road, they are noisier but I didn't notice much anything else with them because my truck is pretty loud as it is. I also have a set of 35's coming out of the next batch to be produced.

My Grabbers are nearing the end of their life, and I've gotta say they've been pretty solid. Great traction in desert terrain, that's for sure.

My only nitpicks:

1- I wish they weren't so heavy. Even if it meant sacrificing strength, I wish they were lighter because they slow the truck down noticeably with all the added unsprung weight.

2- mine came from the early production days and my red letters faded completely light pink in the desert sun. I actually ended up painting the letters red again, so at least there was a solution.

3- I really wish they came in a DOT 37".... If they did, I might buy them again.

What did you use for paint?

I love mine and will not run another tire. Sure they dont have the street manners of the BFGs but they look amazing! Red Letters in FTW!

Just got a reply from General Tires:

"Thank you for your interest in the General Grabber. Unfortunately, demand has exceeded our expectation, and it will take several months for production to reach your local General Tire dealer."

So I just said screw it and cancelled my order and just ordered some Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar.

I just got a email from the head of our (Continental) dealer program about the generals. There is no production date set or any 35's in stock. Probably won't see any until 2013 in stock.

That's crazy to me!

You have people lined up around the block to buy your stock for the next year or two, and you can't make them, or at least enough to fill a few warehouses?

FWIW I have the non-dot 37s and i never had any problems with wandering, shimmying, tread wear or flats. I like their manners, they have gotten louder, hook up great off-road. All in all I've been happy, approaching 20k miles on them too. One piece of advice if anyone does get them, they like 35psi. They are pretty heavy though.

Bummer about production issues!
