IRS? You mean Independent Rear Suspension? It still has a conventional rear end, not an IRS.

jesus & I caught someone else saying the same thing- either way, I knew what he meant & you know what I’m talking bout

sorry- COIL OVER rear suspension - no leafs

A “final” iteration of the “venerable” HO 3.5 EB, presumably w/ “all” the kinks worked out & a minor power bump would be fine by me....personally I think they’re throwing bigger snails on it & power will be more like 550hp/600tq (don’t see Ford allowing the aviator- hybrid or not- to out muscle their best 1/2 ton)

but the IRS ALONE along w/ the enhanced interior/tech would be more than enough to sway me toward a gen3

after it’s been out 2 years & the guys w/ deeper pockets & shorter patience but the first couple model years up @ ADM & play guinea pig for me bahahahah

I'm with you, I assume any of those issues I had with my Gen 2, which is why I went to a Gen 1.. are long gone by now and I have no problem jumping into a Gen 3. I think there's so much upside to the new truck over the last Generation IMO.

I also hope that this guy is wrong and we get 500hp like you said. But say it doesn't get a 50 hp bump, I've seen lots of Gen 2 owners say that they won't upgrade simply on that alone.

Either way I'll still get one lol.

Even though I don't like the new front the rest of the upgrades (adjustable exhaust and rear linked ) I'll buy a Gen3 when my Gen1 is ready to retire.

i feel like the current HO 3.5 EB is more than adequate, & if it isn’t a reliable tune more than makes up for any lack of oomph - especially considering the curb weight & gearing

A gen 2 is a 480hp (crank) truck on 93 octane stock anyhow & tuned it’s more like 525-550hp & 600tq @ the crank, weighing 5650 lbs

do you really need more than that? I don’t. I certainly do not. I think that’s the “sweet spot” of normal USABLE power for the street while getting decent MPG. Offroad you’d need better suspension even @ stock power levels for a gen2, so the gen3 will probably be like Goldilocks perfect porridge

the Raptor R is gonna be the one that gets the attention, the Mid-trim 37” “base” raptor will be the one to get
