Hey All, I am looking into a used Gen2 with 49K Miles. Here is rear shocks and differential. Any feedback on concerns to consider before buying? Thanks for your input.

what kind of residue is that on the frame rail in pic 1, and on the left rear shock, pic 3?

at 49k, likely the shocks need rebuilt or replaced, unless there’s a receipt for same.
Guessing you’re looking at a ’19-’20, likely past the cam phaser park issue.

Looks like a chit ton of salt!

It needs an underbody wash.

What’s the maintenance like on it?

First of all, nice manicure. No judgment. ;-)

That looks like some kind of spray from a leak on the shock shield, frame and leaf. Someone could have sprayed the leaf springs to try and quiet them down, but I still think it had a leak somewhere. can you follow forward all the way up to see where it might have come from? Look for other stains or if it’s wet along the frame rails, underbody etc.

see if you can get video of it on a lift, taking the video forward to see if there’s a likely source for that - what looks like an old leak.
Does carfax / Oasis show anything about it?

And... TBF, the guy could have had a cheapskate neighbor like me, who refused to take their 20 quart diesel oil change to a recycle depot - any auto zone, etc will do - instead he through it in the trash and when the truck compacted their trash it left an Exxon Valdez level oil slick on the pavement in front of their place, which I drove right through not even seeing it. So there’s that possibility ;-)
