I wouldn't go with Whipple if it's like the gen2 tune. The tune itself is ok but on the gen2 they have your stock tune so you if you want to swap back to stock you have to contact them and they send it to you. Knowing my luck I'd need it after hours or on the weekend when they aren't open.

Is it a good idea to bring a brand new for tuning? Will it void the factory warranty?
Depends on the dealer. But yes, you run the risk of certain claims being denied due to any aftermarket performance modifications.

Some dealers sell the Rousch packages and verbally promise to honor all warranty work.

Your results will vary depending on the dealer. But yes, even if you flash your ECU back to stock, they will see there was a flash.

As stated, truck is plenty quick as is.

I could be wrong, but aren’t there some piggyback units, like JB4 that work downstream and aren’t recorded by the computer?

No saying they won’t affect warranty, but if you’re smart about it, no one has to know…

Can you explain to a simple minded ignorant SOB like myself?
Not available yet for the Gen 3 as far as I’m aware, but here’s a link that should provide answers:

Actually, after a closer look, they do list a V3 for the 2021+ trucks. I’ll have to give them a call to see if they are shipping yet or still in testing…

Much of what you stated is simply not true. I don’t know where to begin but there are literally hundreds of threads about this topic, so at minimum I would advise others reading his post to do a little more research before coming to their own conclusions.
I mean if you tune the ECU (reflash) then it will be recorded by the black box on these gen 3s and they can see it. It literally says tuning the vehicle will void the warranty and when I received mine I had to sign a document stating I knew that. Maybe it’s at the discretion of the dealer but it’s a possibility nonetheless. So not sure where I was speaking fallacy?

You can place a module the goes inline some cables in the engine so it tunes after the ECU but I’ve heard these can be dangerous to use.

Hey man, not trying to shoot you down or anything, but there is no language from ford that states tuning an ECU will void your warranty, powertrain or otherwise. It's not black and white like that. Threw a rod with a tuned ECU? Then yes you are likely going to get a denied warranty claim. Cam phaser issue? Hundreds and hundreds of online documented cases where tuned engines got cam phasers replaced under warranty. I'm not trying to call you out on a technicality, but there's a big difference between a manufacture binding you to some kind of non-tampering agreement, and warranty denial for claims that are very obviously related to a tune. Me personally, I wouldn't pretend for a second Ford wouldn't be able to detect a tune, even if uninstalled. I'm ready to "pay to play" but at the same time, I expect warranty support for defective parts unrelated to my tune.
