How many staggered wheel sized 4x4 off road trucks have you seen before? Either something stock or a complete custom build? I can’t say I have seen this. If you have 700 horse and tons of torque, just put that shit in 4A or 4H if you can’t hook it up.

Not saying a manufacturer may not build something crazy. I just don’t see it in a 4x4 so fast.

They already figured out an AWD solution for warrantying 707hp lol! This is just guessing on my part, but that's a whole helluvalot of power/TQ to tame in a truck platform - and I think it may keep things "simpler" & "safer" (from a parts breaking standpoint) to have something like that w/ a rear biased dedicated AWD setup, GC & durango are AWD.

Either way, whatever they come out w/ I'm sure it'll be intense.

So AWD off road? True it could be. Yes running 2WD with 700HP is basically half worthless. Not going to be able to hook that up in the street or dirt. So full time AWD could make sense.

I'm sure the Ram is going to have a good amount of torque management. Really only get the 700hp in the upper gears. My 2006 SRT Quad cab limited the TQ/HP in 1st and 2nd as well as gear changes ,only got the full 500hp in 3rd and 4th , until i got a new tune on the ECM anyways.

Trophy trucks have been trying to run AWD systems for years and though the systems have improved, it is still a flawed system for off-road use and can be not reliable. Ram isn't going to put a AWD system on a purposely built off-road truck. Heck, we don't even know if the TRX will be a purposely built off-road truck. For all we know, Ram is slapping a blower on it (like they do with everything else) and adding some "off-road" suspension components and calling it a day. The TRX may just be another Chevy Reaper, which is/was another truck that failed miserably to unseat the Raptor.

A lot of people assume that the TRX will be able to give a Raptor a run for its money—I am not one of those people. Yes, competition is good and benefits the consumer in a free market economy. But Ram has a lot to prove before the Raptor is unseated.

In reference to the release of the Gen 3, there will be time (at least a year) in-between the release of the new F150 and the Gen 3 Raptor. By delaying the release, Ford is able to maintain awareness/hype/momentum of the new F150 lineup. It would be foolish to release everything at the same time. And as others have pointed out, Ford didn't bring the Gen 1 to market until one year after the new 2009 F150 was released. Ford waited two years after the new 2015 F150 was released to bring the Gen 2 to market. So it is reasonable for Ford to do the same on the Gen 3 Raptor. Also, Ford will want to wait until after the TRX is released just in case they need to make some adjustments to insure the Raptor stays atop the mountain of trucks.

Let’s say Ram just throws a blower on the engine and makes 700 something horsepower and has the same off road performance as a rebel...which obviously is way less capable than a gen 1 let alone a gen2...im cool with that and I’m sure several people who own Raptors would be fine with that too.

Not many truly off-road the way the raptor was intended. There are more street queens then off roading raptors. Hitting some muddy dirt roads to get to your tree stand from time to time..an FX4 with good tires would be fine.

The scream of the blower and V8 exhaust would be enough for several people to jump on...throw custom exhaust on and you’ll be waking up the neighbors and setting car alarms off on cold starts lol

What I mean is - just like high performance cars w/ staggered setups - you wanna play you gotta pay type of thing. You want the most performance possible out of a factory vehicle alot of times that means running staggered wheel/tire setups....the 1st gen SRT8 jeep comes to mind, as does every M car, every mustang/camaro/vette etc. The SRT10 Ram. The old ford lightning etc.

My point is - If Ram makes a 700hp TRX truck I'd bet there's a good chance it'll have wider rear tires than front.....& I'm also willing to bet that maybe .0005% of potential buyers would give a damn, maybe you're one of em I guess?
You NEVER run staggered tires on a off-road truck period.

well- yeah, But you also don’t usually have a 707hp blown V8 powering a typical off-road truck either....and 95% of the people buying a RAM TRX ain’t off-roading it.
