She’s OK… beat up from the airbags, but we think she’s OK.

Gonna get to the doc to het checked out as soon as her mom gets back with our other car. Don’t think she’s up to contorting herself into my track car’s bucket seats!

Probably shouldn’t post about it before everything’s settled, but man I’m pissed off about this situation…

I’m ecstatic that she’s gonna be OK, but this ******** just made our lives miserable for the next several weeks. Screen grab from one of the witnesses dash cam:

Was looking at options when my wife was in the ER getting X-rays and shit, and it dawned on me that there’s no way we’re gonna be able to replace her car for anywhere close to what it’s gonna cost after the past couple years of rampant inflation.

What a pain in the ****.

So sorry to hear about this crash… I can’t imagine what that’s like. Thank goodness she is doing ok

I think we’re both allergic to trucks being out of commission. At the moment our builds are probably on opposite ends of the engine spectrum. Im thrashing through a frame swap first and focused entirely on chassis and suspension.. I purposely am not getting too far into engine / trans to minimize variables until the chassis is sorted.

This summer I am planning to put a gen 3 trans and short block in my truck with gen 2 heads. Considering you’re in a different situation, can’t really risk something not working and you are now in a time squeeze if probably makes sense to Keep It Simple and get a plan knocked out with the gen2 block

Rods, pistons, ATI pulley, gen 3 crank, fresh bearings and arp head/main studs and you’d be set.

Thanks all… appreciate the kind words. Important thing is that she’s ok…sore as hell, and has blisters/burns on her hands, and bruises all over her lower legs from the airbags, but she’s gonna be OK.

What bums me out is her car was pretty much paid off, and now we need to start that process all over again…and loan rates are much, much higher than the < 2% rate we have on hers. We’ll obviously have some equity paid out that can be rolled back into another car, and we can raid our savings and just pay cash…and may wind up doing that anyway, but again, it just ****** me off to pull out money that’s working for me.

I already miss the days of almost free money with the rates from a few years ago too; we got zero % on my last commuter car, our sons’s truck, and our daughter’s car too. I think those days are long gone, LoL.

We’re actually looking at some CPO cars too…if we can get her into a similar car with fewer miles for the payout, we’ll jump on that.

Anyway…. Back to the truck!

BTW, there is another bit that fits those cam phaser bolts: RT11… never heard of that size/standard, but apparently it’s a thing!
