Next snag was when I realized the bell housing bolts weren’t long enough to use with the engine stand:

So another side quest to the hardware store for four 80mm M10x1.5 bolts, but finally ready to tackle head removal throughout this week:

Also, the T55+ (IP55) Torx bit is indeed the correct size for the cam phaser bolts:

Heard back from Headgames and they can get me in as soon as I get the heads to them, so accelerating the tear down a bit to get them shipped out ASAP.

But gotta stop for the night…and gonna be sore as hell mañana, but feels good to have cleared this step!

Until next time…

@TheClaw I didn’t see your response to @full-race geoff ’s question about your post over in his thread re: whether or not you also upgraded to the Gen3/Coyote lifters and followers when you did your cam phasers.

BTW, your approach to the timing gear is starting to look very attractive right about now…been out of my truck for too long as it is, and ready to just get it knocked out. Leaning towards doing the same as you, only with built heads and a refreshed bottom end, and upgraded oil pan, pickup etc.

This pic of yours is very inspirational to me right now!

Still holding out for a Boundary oil pump for now though…it’ll be 3+ weeks before I get my heads back from Headgames anyway, so I still have a little time to wait to see if they do a Gen2 and up oil pump, plus crank sprockets.
