that is what I am getting tomorrow-Led Foot. Which I have had since 2018. Your truck looks awesome btw. Can’t wait to pick mine up. Will be sad to drop off my 2018. It has been a great truck As was my Gen 1. Can’t believe I have been so lucky to be driving raptors since 2013 everyday! Going to try and get BFG 37s on mine with Venomrex or Methods with a collar to level if I can get it to fit in my garage. Already pretty tight up top….

Thanks man. I also only had LF since 2018, 4 of them. Im actually stoked on a new color more than I though I would be, pics dont do white justice. And I may try 37's when these wear out, but I drive a lot and enjoy the better MPG

Wait till that Raptor R comes out…. Then we will all be ******! The Gen 3 community will also see the trucks values drop like a rock! The Gen 3 is a great truck with 37’s and a MUST if buying one! Total game changer from the gen 2 to gen 3 offering 37 package….
“A Must”…subjective but to each their own.

My truck is a 37 package. That is the first box I checked. My Gen 2 had the blue Recaro seats as well. I really needed them in the Gen 3.

So I got my truck today. 150 sentimental miles on the way there thinking about how much I loved my Gen 2 and hockey trips with my kids, getting our dog, offroading, beach cookouts, surf trips etc. Reality is still a great truck and still drives great. I will certainly remember my Gen 2 very fondly as I did my Gen 1.

I had to bolt back to the office so literally set up apple carplay and bye-no intro no nothing so think about learning new tech on the road…was a lot to take in.

Early impressions

Interior-
Coming from a loaded to the gills 2018, the non Reccaro interior is just as nice-maybe a few details here and there but the seats are way more comfortable-lots of support and with the carbon package it looks a plus. Steering wheel and tech I am sure will be awesome once I get used to it all. Stereo is def better, did not do any adjusting but I think there is more there. Still, I think it should be better but I will always say that. I listened to the same record down and back so I think I have a good reference. Feel of the cabin was a big change for me-for whatever reason the interior felt bigger yet I felt like I was more riding in a truck vs riding on a truck. Not sure how else to describe it. I noticed as I was getting out of the truck that there is something under the back seat. Worried that space is now smaller as I used to shove valuable stuff under there including an iPad and not sure I can do that anymore. I cant stand the check the back seat for the baby warning that goes off every time I shut the car off and get out of the car-need to figure out how to turn that off.

Exterior
Front Grill is better IMO. Lights are really good and I never put fogs in before so that is a nice addition. Give the tailgate look to the Gen 2. Gen 3 is good but the Gen 2 was awesome. the new power in the back seems great and the added functionality with the tailgate seems great too. Spray in bed liner on this one is better-literally had holes I duct taped to keep water from coming up in my Gen 2. My Methods on my Gen 2 are better than the upgraded 35 wheels but that is just my opinion. Measured when I got home 1.25 inches of rake. I will level the front as I want added clearance but also feel like the pre load of almost 2 1/2inches to level in my Gen 2 made the ride worse. Finding doors on this truck need a bit of force to shut. I have already had three door ajar issues.

Ride
This truck drives great. Again, on a highway going straight but it feels like an Escalade or Lincoln Town Car. Plush but responsive and not sloppy at all. I really like the changes to the rear suspension. We have bad highway roads here with bit potholes, construction and all sorts of problems. I felt like my Gen 2 could get a little skiddish and also suffered axle hop. This truck feels planted. After I got home, I went back out to some back roads and drove it pretty aggressively. It handles great and it really feels like Ford found something with this motor-new programming/something else-not sure. It feels quicker, shifits are smoother, less delay when getting on the gas. I have not done any tuning before but am sure Cobb and those guys figured all of this out before Ford did with the Gen 2 tunes. I dont hear the clanging and chatter that I did in my Gen 2 when I hit bumps also. Suspect a lot of this as my shocks needed some work to get back a good place.

Way to early conclusion. All raptors are awesome. I am excited about the Gen 3 and getting to know it more. Def happy I did not pay for the 37 package as I would rather have the 8 grand to go spend on it later-either on maintenance or the other things I want to do to make it better. Likely going to put 37s on next week-I figure new wheels and tires will run about 3500 for 5 of what I want and I can flip what I have for a bit more than 1/2 so that leaves me 6000 or so to spend on it over the years on other things. Just my opinion but I think an appropriately equipped 35 is a great place to start with this version of the Raptor But I also dont know about how the differences in the front shocks or the minor tweaks to the 37 frame change the ride having not ridden in a 37 or driven one.

I am really happy to have made the jump but also would have been happy doing a bit of work on my gen 2 and driven it into the ground as well. Ford continues to make the Raptor a fantastic truck for what I need/like. Will be fun to see how this truck evolves in the years ahead.
