It will likely be a money pit that once you put any money into you won’t be able to stop till it’s fully done. I’d buy another truck and thank it for its service on the way by.

Having done this before you have to look at this a certain way. Its Branded, and paying someone else to fix is expensive..

1. Is this a sentimental truck that you will keep ?
2. Can you do most of the work yourself?
3. Dont restore it, its still a "Branded Title " vehicle and hard to sell.
4. If you decide to keep it, build a bad ass truck with all the good aftermarket support that's available to us.
If it was a branded title truck I was keeping, I would link and cage it.. If/when its time to move on, a person looking for a back-haled truck probably can look past the title.
5. You wont get the money back if you pay a shop to fix it...just put that money into another one.

^^^^^This. If you are working from a clean slate, ditch the ancient leaf springs, and consider something like a short-course style 4 link. You can always back half it & cage it later, but it's a practical way to get 20" of delicious travel, while still keeping a functional bed.
