Day by day we are getting closer. Less than a month till the El Bandito 500. Starting to look like it's going to make it.

Wow... I just read through all 53 pages. Great read, story and build! I did find it interesting your insurance company made you actually bid to do a buy back. I have been in the claims industry as a field adjuster, exotic car specialist, a total loss adjuster as well as managing the said departments and this is the first I have heard of this. Most companies use historical data to determine a salvage value. It may have been a specialty case in this instance however. Just wanted to add my insurance .02. Question. Do you plan on upgrading any engine components or did I miss this somewhere else? Again great thread/build. The most fun I've had on this forum. Keep it up

Not sure as to why they made me bid on it. However, I have heard of it in the past. Maybe a California thing.

As far the motor goes, cold air intake, stainless works headers, custom ex, and a custom tune from 5star. The 4:88 gears make a huge difference. I am not a fan of superchargers for the way we use our trucks. Maybe in the future I will do some more motor work. But for now I have a huge learning curve on driving a linked truck.
