There is no single answer to this as the computer calculates it based on your projected mpg. I've driven more than 10 miles with it telling me 0 miles until empty and was never able to put more than 34.5 gal in. I also had one instance that I was at 0 miles until empty and put 3 gallons in since I was in a rush and the computer never adjusted and it stayed at 0 miles until empty until I filled it up about 30miles of driving later.
The issue is the fuel pump sucking air. I remember a member posting in the gen 2 forum about a change in policy at his workplace. Workers were running the trucks as close to empty as possible and they were replacing a lot of fuel pumps. Policy change to fill at a quarter tank and the problem went away. Now I fill at a quarter unless I'm far from a gas stations for some reason, generally a backcountry trip. If you want to track it to the source, a good idea given my memory, it was in a thread about trucks not starting when parked on a hill. Turned out to be fuel running to the end of that long-ass tank.Is it that harmful to drive when the light turns on?

According to my calculationsThought I would chime in since I too usually run mine until light turns on & it says empty. I had to Google if we had a reserve tank.
Light on: 6 miles until empty & arrived at gas station.
Filled up exactly 30.435 gallons until nozzle clicked off.
Estimated range 400 miles on start up.
Something seems off.. did the nozzle clicked off early?
