My truck had it done already when I bought it, there is a sticker on the fuse box that says where the new fuel pump fuse is located. Wonder if that's a Ford protocol since it was a dealership maintened truck but I thought that was good they did that. For anyone who gets the dealership to do it may be worth looking in to as well

would double check. mine was marked as done, but the fuse was still in place. it was never bypassed like it was supposed to be. just marked as done

Not sure why anyone waits on this, its a ticking time bomb. On some runs like the Baja run with TRR, this is a requirement. I did mine back in 2016 when the kit first became available. I had absolutely no sign of issues but why wait to get stuck or go out when on the highway, heaven forbid. This is the last thing you need when on the trail even if popping in another fuse will get you moving but if the fuse is melted/burnt then the slot is now weak and damaged. Even with paying for labor and the part, its less than a $150 fix and yet we try to count our luck, why?

Well, it got me too. I was waiting it out until I found some time before a big road trip coming up, but mine burned out while at the drive-in theatre with the kids tonight.

Having it towed to the dealer - conveniently less than a mile away - will try to throw a new 20A fuse in before I have them do anything, but isn’t this a TSB, recall, or whatever?

Should they be fixing this for me? Not opposed to doing the kit myself but since I have to get towed somewhere and I’m right by the dealer I figured I’d start there.

$183 from the Central IL stealership. Had to protest the original $250 quote. With three kids at home and no school this price was reasonable to me.

Don’t get caught, do it now for low dollars and some time.

Just got the truck back. Runs great. Gas mileage so far is higher; only driven 100 or so though.

Fuse relocation was put into slot 70 and wiring was done underneath so there is nothing exposed on top. Looks clean. Also used a big blue square 20A fuse.

If you had a dealership do it, where did they put yours?
