Truth be told the power wagon is really the more practical of the 2....the Raptors payload/tow ratings are surprisingly optimistic in reality it’s more comfortable @ 1/2 capacity whereas the power wagon you could probably exceed em by 10% & not really have a concern

I haven’t exceeded the tow rating but I have had more than 1200lbs of payload without a problem. Didn’t feel unstable at all.

I had a 2007 and a 2017 Power Wagon. They are great trucks but not nearly as fun to drive on the road as the Raptor. I can’t say anything about off-road as I haven’t had any off-road fun in the Raptor yet. I have only had it a little over a month.

Not about being “unstable” it’s just the truck clearly “doesn’t like it” - the suspension squat is cringeworthy. I had 1000 lbs of stone dust in it & I felt like I wasn’t just shaving life off the shocks/springs/bump stops every mile I went down the road.

So, how did carrying 1000 lbs. hurt the truck? People have been overloading trucks since they were invented. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Did you breakdown or did you really just feel stupid driving around with the ass end sagging? I see that on a daily basis.

A buddy called me from home depot one time to come rescue him. He had 20 sheets of sheetrock loaded on the roof rack of his jeep cherokee, with a forklift. I show up with my old beater 3/4 ton truck and see that his roof is partially caved in. Forklift guy picked the load off his roof rack and put it in the bed of the truck. Guess what, his roof just popped back up into normal position. Like nothing ever happened. Same shit probably happens every day a 100 times. It doesn't mean you're going to do it every single day with a Raptor though.

Consistently amazed at the shit I see in the big box home improvement store parking lots. I have no idea how the stores have it set up to where they are not liable because they don't have you sign any kind of waiver or anything. I for one would be looking to sue if a loved one were killed or injured by some idiot handyman whose 40 year-old trailer disintegrated after being overloaded with the help of store employees.
A few weeks ago I was at my local Lowes and there was this ancient pickup/trailer combo being loaded with bags of cement mix. Doubtless for one of those sweet 'handyman' specials where they try to pour you a driveway extension or patio by mixing individual bags in a wheelbarrow with the help of the finest **** heads $10/hr cash will buy. Anyway, on the way inside I said to the wife that they are massively overloading that and it is not safe. Bear in mind that a store employee was using a forklift to assist this process as they were loading whole pallets of cement mix. Sure enough, on the way out the entire rear end of this Dodge Custom pickup had broken, the trailer had pitched violently backward and the forks were now stuck in this whole mess. Nobody was hurt but how close was that rolling nightmare to getting out on the road?
