Mine just did it last fill up and was wondering if someone solved the mystery. It does sound like the tank shifting, but why isn't it happening all of the time?

I noticed it too. It's a backfire from the exhaust only after filling the tank.

I passed under a bridge and it did it twice. That's the way I found out.

Mine does it a few times right after I fill up and then stops until the next trip to the gas station.

Also thought it was the tank shifting around but it seems solid when I push on it.

Maybe an air bubble or the gas shifting around until the pressure equalizes???

I don't think it is a tank shift. Tank feels solid and no play. I have yet to fill up again (weather has been nice so I've been riding the Victory!) but I think it is like others suggested, maybe too full of a tank. Cause it goes away once I've driven a short distance.

Trust me it's a backfire from the exhaust. Fill up and lower your windows. You will hear it.

Here's my theory. The fuel system is closed loop. To comply with epa reg. (Not sure how many of you own old cars but when you overfilled those the vent would spit the gas onto the ground.) Back to the raptor, there has got to be a vent that goes to a part of the intake... And if you give a couple clicks of the handle when filling after it clicks off.. It pushes a little bit of fuel up there and you get a "rich" backfire when it is burned off. If you where watching the afr when the truck backfired you could see this.
Fix- when the nozzle clicks off, that's it, you are full

Does it happen if you stop at first fuel cut off and don't force more in the tank?
