Hi All. Was referred to this site by another member.

I wanted to share my latest additions to my '10 Scab... I live in Colorado where there is more rock trails than desert running and I desperately needed some better protection underneath. I went to a local shop that specializes in skids and rock sliders for full-size Fords and Xterras and had them design and build a complete package. The reason there aren't many options out there for skids and rock sliders is that the process is very time intensive and there is no easy way to attach REAL rock sliders... So, this project was a few months in the making.

The aluminum top plate on the sliders has since been sprayed with a grippy bedliner type material.

Enjoy the pics and let me know what you think!

Thanks! Rob

welcome Maverick, lookin' good. It's like your Raptor has a ****** on, readied for a lil' afternoon delight in the form of rock-play. I can dig it.

Awesome work! Nothing like good skids for some piece of mind! Do you have more pictures of the sliders and how they mount to the truck?

Cheers,

Hi everyone. My name is Chris. I'm the guy that built the skids and sliders for Robs Raptor. The sliders are weld on and solid. Built from 1 3/4" x.25 wall DOM. They should do much more than act as a step. The goal was to keep things looking close to factory but build in protection that Ford never saw fit to add. Robs factory running boards were completely bent up when he brought in the truck. This should take care of any future damage.

The skids were designed to be easy to bolt on using factory mounts so that no drilling is required. They took weeks of design time and multiple set being built to get them right. Robs set is all 1/4" 5056 Aerospace grade aluminum. Light weight and stronger than the stock skids...if you can actually call them that. The skids still incorporate access for all necessary regular maintenance without removal of the skids. By no means are the Aluminum skids built for rock crawling but neither was the Raptor. We designed a steel version as well for the more abusive driver.

I'll try to get some mounting pic up tomorrow

Chris
