I’ve heard it changes the duty cycle of the phasers to reduce the locking/unlocking cycles that occur while driving in order to reduce wear. The new calibration applies to all models built up to 11/30/2019. The redesigned new phaser design went into production that same month. Trucks built after 11/30 would already have the newest part and latest calibration.@FordTechOne have you learned any new knowledge on what this PCM Re flash does and how it can prevent phaser issues? What if your truck has had the phasers replaced due to noise, or if your truck was built supposedly after the updated parts were being implemented in new builds. Does this flash still apply to your? Or does Ford still want to
Flash all these trucks to make sure they blanket cover everyone?
So 11/30/2019 and after trucks have the latest and maybe the only proven redesign of phaser parts. I gather the new calibration on those trucks will also further remove any future failures. With that said, apparently the new calibration doesn’t affect performance or economy.I’ve heard it changes the duty cycle of the phasers to reduce the locking/unlocking cycles that occur while driving in order to reduce wear.
