Front end noise

Ok so truck is 3 weeks old. Up at house in mountains and have about 10” snow on driveway. Put truck in 4A. Drive about 15’ and a loud grinding noise comes from front end. Put truck in 2h noise goes away. 4A noise comes back. So i start to drive home in 2h, get about 100 miles and noise starts happening. Just towed truck to my house didnt wanna drive it. If i had tools or would have dropped front drive line to see if that would help. Noise also happens in neutral going down hill. Also found this part under truck in driveway.

Thinking IWE but it would only happen in 4x4 and not 2h. But now it happens in all modes. So towing it to dealer. My question is if they replace iwe will they replace the metal splines? I am prettty sure the splines must be worn out listening to the metal noise.

Yes they inspect the splines and replace if needed

Thank you. Just worries me cause i bought it used from a dealer with 4,200 miles on it. Makes me think might be why the other guy returned it. Wish i could now. Still could not find where that part came off of. Looks like from a shaft

dealer got back to me today. The front diff is broken. They ordered a new diff. Said it must be a manufacturing defect cause shows now wear, abusive or modifications. Kinda sucks cause it will take 2 weeks they said to get and install.
