GEN 1 Front Camera won't enable

I replaced my rear camera with a Ford OEM but the front camera doesn't work anymore. What is the LIN initialization and how can I troubleshoot that?

The camera needs to be configured with a scan tool. Ford IDS can do it easily, not sure about aftermarket scan tools.

My 2011 didn't have cameras or the cheezy screen, so I m just going this way instead

I am having such a tough time with my cameras on my new to me 2014. Purchased the truck a few weeks ago and neither camera worked. Rear camera was intermittent/upside down/and would cut out. Front camera wouldn't enable in offroad mode 4L or locked.

Bought a highly reviewed camera off amazon for around 100 bucks and the grid lines, zoom, and parking sensors all worked. Front camera still wouldn't work. Tried to calibrate the camera using forscan and got the following message:

"B115E:08-LIN communication fault from the video camera. If the camera is OEM, please check the LIN circuit as described in the workshop manual. If the camera is not OEM, please replace product with an OEM."

I went ahead and purchased another camera off Ebay that is supposed to be OEM and came in a good looking ford parts box. Installed the camera and the image quality is worse than the other camera and the zoom doesn't work. Tried to calibrate in forscan and got the same error.

Wondering if 1. Is the new camera off ebay a fake?
2. Is there a way to get the camera that seems to work synced with my LIN system?
3. Should I just cut my losses and forget about the front camera??

The Ebay one is likely not a Ford camera. Ebay is loaded with fake OEM parts.

Why not just get a Ford camera? Are they $600 or something crazy?

Everything on eBay is fake Chinese junk, the OEM camera is $542.
