Are you saying you are struggling to get the axle shaft pushed in all the way? They can be a real pain, you really gotta hit it with your purse, but it'll go in. They can be a pain to pull out too.

I was confused initially aswell, but it does in fact go in spot “2” verified this with ford dealer parts department when I ordered a new one as it is recommended. That metal circllip in spot one is what keeps the cv axle from pulling all the way out. If you look on the shaft, there is a slight indent groove where he o ring sits, also if you feel the inside of the CV, the edge is “cupped” or tapers out if you will to hold it in place once slid over.
Thankyou!

Just replaced my 2011's screws pass side cv axle and IWE actuator. We used this video

as a guide and it's spot on, EXCEPT- The old axle won't just pull out easily with or without a little help from a prybar since the vid is for a standard f150 (same generation). The difference is the extended travel fox shock/coil spring on the raptor prevents the axle from sliding out. We had to remove the top 3 nuts (make note of orientation) of the shock assembly (tower) then the big bolt at the bottom of the shock mount in the lower A arm. Shock dropped right out and the axle slipped out easily as well, although my overly strong bud pulled the axle out with it. But he was able to push it back into place with a few mildly forceful taps with his open palm. A rubber mallet would have worked as well I would guess. Easy peasy.
Here's a pic of the final results.

With his young eyes, my bud found the brake line was worn where it rested on the sway bar end for 94k miles so a new one is on the way. Will check the other side as well.
