I managed to get my whole steering rack done in time. A CV boot should be a quick fix

I got them from orielys. It's a thicker softer rubber. the sock ones are really stiff and more of a plastic than a rubber. I don't have the box they came in anymore but I do know the inner and outer boots are two different part numbers and it comes as a kit with everything you need: boot grease clampd and snap rings. I highly recomand getting at least one inner and two outers unless you're gonna take it in and get it replaced under warrenty. But I've been out of warrenty for over a year so I do all my own work lol

I am still under warranty for the next 6k miles. I really don't want to waste the time with the dealer. I just need to fix it

Yea I know what you mean man the dealers take all day to change it out but they just replace the whole axle they say they can't just replace the boot which is dumb! But honestly it should only take an hour at the most even if you don't have too much knowledge with working on trucks

I usually do my own work. Replaced the CV's on my last truck with most of the front end components but have yet to swap a CV boot. picking it up in the morning. Looks easy enough.
Getting some spares inner and outters too
