Awesome pre run guys... I must of missed the memo, hahaha...

Chris, I see you are putting that antenna to work. What knocked it off? Should guys with mag mount antennas beware?

I know you always have to be cautious with those mounts, but with all the runs I did with it, I never had an issue, even when it was hitting branches.

A few things.

This event is going to be totally different than any other event. Between the area, route, banquet, raffle and a few things we have in store its going to be an event not to miss.

The trails are a mix between slow/medium speed technical trails and high speed areas. There is quite a bit of elevation change trough out the route which makes it even more technical.

Also I have updated post #2 with the current registration.

I only really had an issue in the wooded sections. I had to place both of my antennas kind of hanging off the back of the cab. Once there, the antenna I got from you held really well. My other (regular CB) antenna didn't fair as well in one of the other sections. I am not real sure exactly what caused it, but I heard it hit the bed cover and roll off into the dirt behind me. Whatever happened, it actually cut the coax for the antenna and ruined it. I got my bedrack from Jason that I will be running at the event so my plan now is to get a hard mount for that antenna and mount it to the rack to keep it low enough that the low hanging limbs or any other impacts or whatever, hopefully won't be an issue.

Lets be glad that was all that happened. Only a busted antenna.
I just got in from 2 days of getting the mud off.
It was a blast. I can't wait for the night run.
My New Rigid D2's showed up today.

It was cool to see Jason and Mark again and meet CK. Mark, thanks for being the Lead.

I feel for those guys with the jeeps. It was amazing how many we passed that were F'd up

It was great meeting you in person Fred. I also agree, being able to do all that we did, without being easy on the throttle at all really, blowing he minds of 99% of the jeep owners out there who barely got dirty, and only coming out of it with the need for a new CB antenna and a little more "character" on the sides of the truck? Yeah, awesome indeed. I may show up one day early in September just to take my son out there for a day of just enjoying riding around with him.

Jason, I want the handheld for the event. I also need a hard mount for the antenna I already have so that I can mount it to the rack. I am taking the rack to a local machine shop to have a tab welded on the other side, opposite of the current mount to install my new CB mount.
