Most issues should be fixed at the port if any are noticed at that point. If not, your dealer may have it done before pick up or you may be the one noticing it and having them fix it. From what I heard, you won't be notified of any of those repairs unless if it's something you noticed. Most of these were honest mistakes and defects in the paint. As for the abuse cases you hear of, I can't speak for those.

Hopefully with the paint being so new, they're easy to match.

Jim,

What do you mean by trashed?[/QUOTE

Meaning not much care was given on cleanliness. I didn't expect the exterior to be clean, which it def was not. But interior was pretty messy...salt on the floor where the plastic wasn't covering. There was a paper mat on the passenger side as well, guessing 2 people rode at some point. Everything cleaned up fine. Most people don't see them right off the semi and never see how they come in. Ford just let's the dealer deal with it.

You order a new truck and they put extra mileage on it, ship it to dealer dirty, inside and out? That's ******.

Technically it's no longer a new truck.

I understand the need to test things and check things. But shit at least you could clean it up before you send it out.

Is this a good example?

Looks like shit.

Oh well it's a truck, going to get dirty eventually.

Normally during the sloppy winter months most of our vehicles come in with the interior really dirty. For delivery to us the vehicles leave the plant, get hauled convoy to the rail yard, then loaded on a train, then unloaded from the train and then loaded convoy and then unloaded from the convoy. So just sheer amount of times people are climbing in and out of the vehicle it gets pretty crappy. Keep in mind there are also times they actually unload a unit off of a carrier at another dealer and then back on before dropping it at the final destination. All depends on logistics and where particular units fit on each carrier. So people are crawling in and out of them multiple times before we get them.

For the longest time many of the carrier drivers crawled in and out of the windows of the vehicles when they were on the carrier. So we'd have foot prints on the doors, seat and armrests. We don't really see that at all any more though.

But yes ALL of that is left for the dealership to clean up.

That's crazy. But why doesn't it have the all weather mats in the front? Funny how Ford doesn't have their cars completely wrapped like an Audi for example during transport.
