I found a Molten Orange one on a lot around here with 10k on it for a good price and it had everything but the bed extender and tailgate step, so I pounced on it. I didn't have the option to wait either though, my truck had been stolen and I needed new wheels ASAP, so I needed a Raptor off of a lot.

LOL, ha, i waited a month. I was also without wheels because BMW had just purchased my car back. But i was willing to wait, and i almost waited for 2012. But oh well, i couldn't be happier!

i guess you could say i did both..... i made a special order with a dealer near me, got kicked back for the NAV, then kicked back cuz they ran out of radios (at the 7 week mark). so i called Randy to see what he had, and turns out he had a Tux Black with everything that a customer backed out on, so i took it. 2 months later he had an order of a Molten Orange with every option but the orange interior get pulled (had been on order since jan of 2011), he sold my Tux Black the next day for almost what i paid for it, and then i waited almost 2 months for my truck. so i voted Order, since that is how i started, then took someone elses order, sold it and took another special order..... lol

so wait times... well i waited 10 weeks to get a Raptor, then sell it and waited another 7-8 weeks again. first order went in on 4-21-11, got the truck i wanted from the very beginning on 10-4-11, with a tux black Raptor thrown in there for a lil while

It stands to reason that most of us ordered our Raptors.
This is the first place I looked when I was about to order mine.

I see many members on FRF enduring the 8 to 20, or so, week wait.
It is one of our bonds.

And, though I didn't take advantage of it, look at the multitude on FRF who saved $$$$ ordering their Raptor through Randy

I bought mine used but had to drive over 700 miles to pick it up. I live in Tulsa, OK and drove to Lexington , Ky. to pick it up. There was no other Raptor closer that had the right combination of price, color (Molten Orange) and all the options that I wanted. Whoever had the truck b4 me, I just want to thank because it was in brand new condition with only 4K miles and still had the plastic on the seats and carpet. I was told by the dealer that they traded it in on a 2011 supercrew.

I ordered from 2 differant lots. both truck the exact same and took the first truck that came in

Weel, dang, I see I'm in minority here!! My Duramax was totaled and I got insurance check and went shopping for another one....saw a Raptor on a lot.....drove it and had to have one but couldn't wait on order. Dealer had demo that owner was driving but wanted $54k for truck with 5k on it. I bought the exact same truck on Ebay the next day for $40k....only it had 15k miles on it.

I couldn't be happier.....might order 2012 or 2013 though since my local dealer says he will order for $500 over invoice and I think I can sell mine for more than I paid for it!!!
