Ford Raptor Fuel Pump Fuse Issue

Got everything fixed for now. Didn’t end up going to the dealership. There was mud on top of my gas tank that was not letting the fuel pump have full connection. In the diagnostic I was getting a faulty fuel circuit code. Guessing it got up there that last couple times in the dirt and it recently rained a good amount so that must’ve did it. I had a mobile mechanic company helping me that is also a pit crew for mustangs and work on raptors installing supercharges and everything else. They said if it happens again we need to fully drop the tank and look into the fuel pump. Hoping it’s fixed because I don’t wanna get stranded. Anyone heard of this happening or ways to prevent it?


I have never heard or read of such a thing happening. However, hopefully for you that is all it was.

Yes. Google FPDM, common problem, seems to be more commonly the connector but have read a few instances of the module failing.

Those are mostly for 04-08 F150s. I have not seen any for the Gen 1. Maybe I am wrong?

My FPDM is above the spare tire though. There was nothing wrong with that part. Does it connect on top of the gas tank because that’s where the mud was. If so is it possible to replace the connection points?

its a sealed connection. not sure how exterior mud could cause the problem.

I’m not very familiar with the wiring on top of the gas tank but that’s what the mud was effecting. After cleaning it out and making sure everything was connected my truck started right up.

Edit: The fuel pump wiring harness is on top of the gas tank so maybe the dirt/mud/water caused the sealed connection to not be sealed anymore?

Just had this issue on my '14. Came home from a business trip and truck needed a jump start. Battery was pretty dead so I replaced it and worked like normal again. Two days later, it would crank but no start. Scratched my head for a few days researching and diagnosing between popped fuse, bad fuel pump, bad alternator, etc. Truck has 128k miles, had fuse 27 mod done, starter replaced last year, and new battery installed.
Almost had the truck towed to a shop thinking it was the fuel pump but came across faulty FPDM issue on the forums. Picked up a new FPDM, installed it, and the truck fired right up. Just saved hundreds of dollars.
