Interesting, I haven't noticed a delay into reverse in the 10R any more than any other automatic transmission. My truck takes about 1 second to switch between D and R. Is yours different?

Is it only a second? At times when you have to swing your truck around and back into a spot, it surely seems longer. I guess my reflexes are to quick.

Can you imagine all those poor fools who drive a manual transmission car that doesn't have ANY lights anywhere in the vehicle that tell them what gear the transmission is in? What do those people do? How horrible it must be for them to always have to guess without just knowing their vehicle by feel, etc! ;)

I drive a manual on a regular basis. I still look at the selector in an auto.

With how a manual is laid out, there's really no chance you could be in reverse when you think you are in first, or vice versa. That's why they lay out the gears that way.

Hows that Boeing Stock doing after Value Engineering their Avionics Software????

Dunno dude. Just because you don't understand what things mean doesn't mean those things are inherently flawed.

Rumors I head was their software is crap because they "diversified" the dev team a while back and it's been a shit show since.

I’m grateful they quit with the spring loaded cup holders. Pain in the ass. My wife has them in her 2018 expedition and I hate those cup holders. So this is good news if or when my 2020 ever comes in.

You can modify the tension on the springs if it's too much for you.

The redundant display is in the Instrument Cluster....

I had a 2016 Platinum prior to the 2019 Raptor and I'm pretty sure it had the lighted PRDM. Redundant or not, I'm old school and when it's dark, I look down to verify the gear I'm in. I just don't like cost cutting on a truck that I'm spending 75K on. That's all I'm saying. Whether it's redundant or not, it's still valuable to me.

Let’s put it this way, Why retain a gear indicator that doesn’t light up or has no moveable indicator that allows you to reference the gear your in. Even during the day looking at it, that large club of a shifter does a poor job of really showing you what gear your in. It’s just kind of stupid to have half ass cost cut things in this manner.

I understand look at the dash and there you go. I get it, but below is just done plain stupid at this point.

Certain things need to be redundant.

Why don't we start discussing audio controls, after all they're in the center as well as on the steering wheel...

Different folks have different preferences, and it's perfectly okay to have controls that are being used every day in several places. By the messages here, it's pretty easy to understand that removing light under PRND wasn't a welcome change.

In reference to removing the light from under PRND on the shift column, how is it not a welcomed change when PRND is lit up in bold letters on the instrument panel right in front of your face:

Again, different people have different preferences. If you're not looking down at PRND doesn't mean everyone is the same. I personally prefer to have lights at PRND. Just like the color of the truck, decals on the side or hood, etc... are items that are the matter of preference. And it is perfectly okay that your preferences are different from a guy across the street.

As I mentioned in one of my prior posts, minor things are not a big deal (ie less LEDs on side mirrors), but having 100s and 100s of posts on PRND indicates it is something that has been noticed, and to quite a few folks lights under PRND appear as a missing feature.

I do agree with others on this thread which mentioned Ford appears to be on the Nissan-slide for their interiors. The reviews of the new Explorer have been harsh.
