Ford GT with Akropovic exhaust

Like @Mister Pinky said, equal length pipes. The use of titanium also plays a role in the exhaust note.

Maybe it's just me but I think the Gen 3 sounds similar to the Akra GT?
What is an Akra GT? The gen 3 does sounds so much better than the gen 2, I can imagine there will be a lot of Gen 2's upgrading their exhaust system.

Is that two step with cylinder deactivation launch control stock on the GT? I love how it comes apart as you stage it and then bam!

So many different things about the GT as compared to the truck, including many 100rd thousands. Be hard to duplicate.

So the equal length trombone pipe is one of the main differences to balance out the sound. Maybe the aftermarket can adapt this to the Gen 2, since Ford has shown them the way. The valving I think is just more of a volume control for the whole system. Will have to hear in person to really see.

Sorry... used to saying Akra from my BMW and motorcyle nomenclature. Akrapovic and Ford GT.

It'll be interesting for sure. I know in the BMW world the F8X M cars have some of the worst sounding exhaust notes. It wasn't until just a couple of years ago that a handful of aftermarket manufacturers addressed the issue with equal length mid pipes. It made a noticible improvement, but didn't completely get rid of the ricey, fart, popping sounds. BMW addressed it with the new G8X cars and improved the sound much like Ford is doing with the Gen 3. Personally, I don't think the Gen2's sound terrible but agreee the Gen 3 is an improvement.

I'm not the expert, but I think @FordTechOne mentioned they were far from the same.
Ford GT 3.5 shares approximately 70% of it’s parts with the Raptor 3.5; they’re the same engine architecture.

The GT differences are application specific, such as the dry sump oil system to support high G track use, revised camshaft profiles and larger intake manifold to support higher RPM, and a lowered compression ratio of 9:1 to support increased boost from the larger turbos.

On a different note. With the Gen 3 3.5 getting a .5 bump in Compression. This would help to increase the TQ lower down in the rpm band without the use of a larger revised turbo correct? Would seem counter productive to do more static compression and utilizing a larger turbo as well/.

Yep, I’d say the increase in compression is a contributing factor in the improved torque curve.

While Ford doesn’t include this in there production of a new vehicle and couldn’t care less. I wonder how much of a detriment or bonus this .5 of static compression will affect the tuning crowd. Has to help low down, but further limit boost on the top end possibly. It’s going to be interesting.

I have the Ford performance exhaust on my '18 with larger turbo outlet flanges. Great sound, no drone. Was expensive but I would do it again.
