And who the hell wants “more” effing tech in their vehicles? I sure as hell don’t. Usually breaks, not needed or out of date in 18 months.

And who wants more Google up their butts? I'm in the process of disengaging from Google as we speak. Gmail, calendar, maps, Waze, chat, Chrome, all going or gone. Android is next. What a tar baby. They already try to control us by filtering what information we see based on who we are and what we do. Some stuff they hide entirely because they disagree with it. WTF? So let's tell them everywhere my car goes, too, along with every word spoken inside it. I'm sure they would use the information only for good.

Amen. Preach Brother. Same boat you are. Technology has its place, just not every place.

I am with you, but the problem is there are no good alternatives. Big Brother is watching regardless of who you use. I run a VPN on every device I own to protect my information and data.

What really ticks me off about Apple and our vehicles is that CarPlay requires you to have Siri turned on in order for you to use the application. Sure, Apple will say it is in the name of safety and to be hands free for why Siri needs to be required, but I am not buying it—it allows them to spy and pull information from you especially if you use the listen Siri feature.

When I get switched to apple I’m not going to run CarPlay. I don’t need android auto now, which is good because I never got it to work. I leave my phone at home pretty often anyway. And it’s generally in airplane mode when I do have it. It’s for my convenience, and being interrupted all the time isn’t convenient.

The scary part is turning every remanence of Siri off in your settings and then checking your battery setting and see that Siri is still using battery. Really getting fed up with getting advertisements for shit me and my wife were just talking about and I never typed or looked up on my phone.

I think Ford working with Google on an entertainment platform is considerably different than building a car for Apple - so I will continue to guess thanks. But you can feel free to know everything, that’s cool

You said 'collaboration', which doesn't really clarify if you're talking about collaborating on the whole vehicle or certain systems in the vehicle. Besides, Ford is unlikely to work with Google on the entertainment system if they were going to collaborate on the whole vehicle. Possible, but very unlikely.

As for know everything, I simply found a link to information that someone else had already brought up on the thread. Heck, I didn't even know about till someone else mentioned it.
