Tomorrow mine goes into the shop for UHF/VHF radio install. If you wanna be a “preppier”, comm comes before your AR-15. I would use mine if the big earthquake hit us, but I’d be using my other truck as well. Honestly what I’d really like for a big out rig is a deuce and a half.

Just installed mine this weekend. (I should post pics)

Looks like it still needs Deavers!

You know, I was looking at a $120,000.00 Shelby, and it still had lift blocks and rubber bumps. Funny how these “custom” builders go for bumpers and lights and scrimp on legit suspension upgrades (NO OFFENSE RICOMAN!!). The one I looked at was a 2020...

I have some radio equipment from my old Land Rover "expeditionary" vehicle, but it has sat in my garage since its older tech. I think as far as stuff that would be permanently mounted on the truck radios and GPS are good places to start. I know the trucks are outfitted with GPS already but a solid Lowrance system would probably be a great backup. I have a Leitner Designs rack and I have mounts for some rotopax, so extra fuel is on board. Everyone wants look tacticool like they are on a SEAL team or some shit, when in reality, after a certain point its just really expensive LARPing.

Reminds me of a youtube video I recently watched were a guy got a 30 some odd foot boat and said that he didn't need radar and that the one on his boat was on older type that "didn't work" because the "radar stations are on a newer frequency". Nevermind the boat next to him as the exact same model of radar.

As far as what I would use, I've always romanticized using a sailboat. Doesn't work too well on land, but as long as you know what you're doing, you'll be fine. Lots of them have solar panels and water makers on board so you'd be set for the essentials. As long as you had canned goods or dry food you should be set for an extended haul.... that or a submarine lol!

YES....it is butt ugly...never said I wanted one, just thought it was fun to look at....with that said....450 miles in a Gen1...you must have a 36 gallon tank...cause my 26 gallons never gets close to 450...

Forgot about the SCABs and their dinky tanks. Better have some jerry cans ready to go!

LMAO....NO OFFENSE TAKEN...its not like I went and paid $120K....but did look at them...settled on mine for 1/3 the price...Was not impressed with the $120K Raptor...just loaded up with a bunch of Mods I'd never use...was more interested in the added HP...and if mine didnt have those "decals",its just a Raptor in sheeps clothing...Mine only has the $20K upgrade...and cant see anyone paying up to $60K ABOVE a stock Raptor price for bumpers/lights/tire rack (and of course the SC) ... Its my first dealing with Shelby, and have to say the $20K package is good enough for me....which I'm sure I'll get shit over as soon as I post this...LOL....

Maybe we need to be looking at these next....?
