Fold down rear seat area converted to gun storage?

Thanks Mac. Actually, I was referring to mounting MOLLE to the back of the cab behind the back seat. As Car pointed out, the only usable space is probably the first 18 inches from the floor. Like I said, probably over thinking it. Could just as easy set the tool kit on the floor behind the seat....it's not going anywhere back there.

I would recommend using a zip tie to catch the bolt your first time.

Here is how I did mine, nothing back there yet. For max conceal-ability simply fold down the wire.

Yea, thanks. It's working out pretty good. I've got a small tool kit, a organizer bag, and a take down rifle back there right now. On top on the under-the-seat cargo mod I did... plenty of out of sight storage and don't have to worry about things bouncing around off-road.

Put my own twist on this mod. Folks mentioned being afraid the paracord around the headreast could be found in a "smash n grab" so I used a piece of wire instead of paracord inside the latching mechanism.



I put an eye in the top of the wire to tie the paracord to the wire.



Then I let the paracord run down the back of the seat to where the cord could be grabbed, pulled to the top of the seat and a slight tug leans the seat forward.



Just to make finding the paracord easier I put an eye in the free running end of the cord and set it on top of the seat bolt.





Like I said, its just to disguise the fact that the seats lay down.

Finally did this mod yesterday, took me less than an hour for the whole thing. I used small wire, made a loop on both ends, hid top loop under headrest, cannot tell it is there. Excellent place to hide gun, etc. Great mod to do!!!
