Fog light help

I've narrowed my choices to the Rugged Ridge Unlimited and the Rigid lights for my 2020 Raptor. I will also be purchasing the S8 light bar for my pickup. Which of the fog light pods will give me the best/brightest light in conjunction with the S8 light bar?

Hi Stephen!

The Baja Designs S8 30" behind the grille light is a great choice! Very bright, well made, great light disperion and backed by a lifetime warranty. If Rugged Ridge and Rigid are the only two fog light options, we'd highly suggest Rigid. Rigid's D Series Pro lights, depending upon which exact model, produce some very bright light. Rigid also makes an SAE (rated for on road use with traffic) model as well.

If you're going with a Baja light bar, you should also consider the Baja Designs Squadron series for fog lights. Those are some of the brightest lights out there with their Sport series producing 3150 lumens each and their Pro series producing 4600 lumens each. The Pro series now features CREE LED's which translates to 20% more reach and they dropped the price a bit on them.

I have (2) Rigid pods and (1) Baja Design in each pocket bumper. The Baja Design is the driving/wide and works great. The Rigids work great but if i where to do it again, I would go Baja Designs all the way. I recently found some cracks in the Rigid Lens and guess what....You cant order replacement lenses. You have to pay and have them sent to rigid for them to replace and ship back on your dime. Baja designs sells replacement lenses so you can have a few spares in different colors or what not. May be something to think about..

So the S8 kit is going to be awesome, but as far as your other lights (fogs go) you'll want the D-Series if you decided to stick with Rigid. Honestly the Baja Designs lights give you the most bang for your buck, and since you are getting the S8 kit, the Baja fogs makes sense.

There are lots of fog kits to pick from so it depends no where you are driving. The PRO kit (https://www.4x4truckleds.com/2017-ford-raptor-triple-fog-light-kit-w-baja-designs-lights-pro/) is very popular. Our kits include everything you need.

I'd recommend the SAE lights, spot and flood. This gives you everything you might need on the road.

OR step it up a bit, get the SAE, Driving and Spots. This will cover more honestly. SAE for regular driving, Driving when you want to basically light everything up and spots to throw light way down range.

Again our kits include everything you need from the harnesses to the brackets (which we make here on Long Island)

I'm pretty well set on my lights
S8 for my center and Rugged Ridge Unlimited for my fogs. I would have really liked to add the lower 10" led but we are required to have a license plate.

I have 2 4” rigid 360 SAE fogs mounted on my bumper. They have fantastic output for usable driving conditions. They don’t blind cars but it really does add a lot of usable light for driving. I highly recommend them. If you have a stock bumper I think you could easily mount them upside down on the bracket inside the pockets on the bumpers. They are the two smaller lights on the left and right side of the bumper in this pic.
