Potential Raptor owner gathering intel to make a decision. Not here for the drama, but hope to make a decision about ownership.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge.

It’s a great truck. Looks great IMHO. Rides nicely. Fast for nearly 3 tons. It is big - can be an issue with certain low parking decks and narrow parking spaces. If fuel economy is an issue for you this is not the right truck for you.

I don't disagree with anything you posted for sure. To fuel economy it's always a trade off. Interesting research shows no fuel filters to replace on these motors. Compared to a '15 PowerStroke that's huge..LOL

External fuel filters are long gone on Ford gas engines unfortunately. They just rely on the sock in the tank.

Got ya. Considering the maintenance schedule for these things, I just want to be prepared. Seems like it's becoming an no-brainer to step away from the PowerStroke.

if you no longer tow on a regular basis or care about a real payload. I had 2 f250s, I sold everything I towed with except my boat which is at the marina. By far the absolute funest truck I have ever drove. and yes no longer have to worry about 2 batteries and 2 fuel filters or DEF.

Test drove a '19, used Sport Mode with the A-trac "completely off" (holding button 7 secs). Tires were a tad over pressured (45+) per people's recommendations here. Truck was a beast pulling the asphalt up. Trans shifting a tad skippy in the lower gears (1-4) otherwise no issues up to 8-9. Could have been my pedal input ??? Rode great with the Live Suspension compared to my F350. I'm trying to get the local dealer to order up one to my specs at a good price. Otherwise I might get one in Silver.

I run 33psi in all 4 tires, look at the sticker on side of door for correct psi. the transmission tries to get up to a higher gear to fast in my opinion. I combat that by using paddle shifters and not letting it shift into a higher gear than I want and makes it more fun to drive and you can really feel the power above 3k rpm. Sport mode does hold rpms higher but I do it to my liking. I have a 2018 and no complaints.

I was going to try to air them down before the test drive but that wasn't able to happen. Using the paddles is worth the learning curve for those so inclined. Got to have an ear for the motor RPMs. I wasn't going to give the dealer salesperson any reason to get nervous. LOL
