Flowmaster (custom) exhaust? How to tell?

Not to thread jack, but what made you choose the 388 (24”) over the 288 (18”). The 288 seems to be what comes in the catback that many have posted good reviews on. Lastly, any sound clips?

I chose the #12388 Magnaflo because 1) it is a direct weld-in replacement for factory muffler, 2) I don't like noise or drone.

BTW, even though the muffler I chose was identical to the factory muffler in all external dimensions and should have been an easy replacement for the best muffler shop in town, they blew the installation. They mounted it so low that I lost 2 inches in clearance and wheel travel and spent the next two days under my truck working to get back most of what was lost. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't.
