Side note, since I just purchased my extended warranty... Do Ford mechanics still work on warranty claims if you've done some minor Forscan tweaks?

They will work on it but any tunes and ECU changes will void your warranty 99% of the time.

I’m assuming you don’t pay your deductible until after the factory warranties run out ?

Just trying to make sure I understand these extended warranties (like Flood Pass, etc). Say you decide to buy a warranty 2 years after you bought the truck, and it's got 20k miles on it then. If you buy a 6 year 100k warranty, will you then be covered for the next 4 years, and for 80k more miles? Or does it extend it so that you're covered until 8 years and 120k miles (6 years and 100k miles past your CURRENT date/mileage)?

Has anyone had work done that's been covered by one of these Flood Ford plans? Is it legit? It's a load cheaper than what my dealer was trying to push on me and I wouldn't mind the peace of mind ...

Your dealer was either selling you a marked up Ford warranty or third party warranty. This is a Ford Warranty that pulls up in Ford’s system.

Flood Ford is an actual Ford dealership.

Ugh ... I wouldn't be surprised. I wish I could find a dealership that I could buy a car from that didn't leave me walking away feeling so ... used ...

This news is 2 1/2 years old, but I originally bought a third party extended warranty from the dealer when I bought the truck. I hadn't intended to do that, but after i said no the first time and then they lowered the price, I decided to get it. Bad move. Then I did a little homework and found I could get it from Flood Ford much cheaper. I was able to cancel the original plan with almost 100% refund and buy the Flood Ford plan instead. It shows up in the system at the dealership now. I had one small issue corrected since my factory warranty expired and it worked just fine. I had a loaner for a week and the repair was covered except for my $50 deductible.

So, read the cancellation terms for the plan you bought. You might have a reasonable option to get out of it and get a better plan that is cheaper.
