okay... so I don't see where my location was listed... but whatever, its all good.

As for a 2014... this is where I have a brain fart. According to Ford the '17 will have a better frame, better body panel material, more capable suspension, 10 speed trans (read gen1 models have some transmission issues?), advanced lighting, improved camera, plus an all new terrain management system...

In my stupidity I read Ford claim the gen2 is a better truck top to bottom. What I've read on the 'winning" thread was due to no V8, the gen2 stinks and they'll never buy one.

I love a V8 just as much as the next person, but I don't wanna believe Ford's bean counters sat in a conference room and said... "F'em! Lets put a ****** EB V6 in the raptor and really make some coin." Then again, maybe they did.

I also don't want to think Ford decided "lets put, what we know is a ****** engine, into the Raptor to sell more vehicles with EB." Then again... maybe they did.

I haven't owned a Ford in 28 years. Maybe they don't want to be the best truck maker, just best selling??

IIRC the 2017 Raptor will be the mule for that 10 speed. Hopefully, everything will be smooth with it, but who knows how reliable it will be in the real world.

Was thinking of holding out for a 17 as well, as the V6TT didn't bother me too much, but add in the fact that the dealers will probably put ADM on those trucks, I figured I would be waiting a long time for a Gen 2

That, and I haven't warmed up to the 17's looks, yet.

The Gen 2 should be a better overall truck, or Ford failed in making it.

I planned to... doesn't mean I need to be first in line?? But, this weekend I'm going to look at a few 2014's. Not because I'm afraid of the V6. lol. Mostly, because I can probably do a 2014, and in 2017 buy the 2018.. and not lose much on the deal. All preliminary thoughts...
