My friend and I took my new 19 Raptor on a mountainous 4x4 trail near Estes Park, CO today. Although I have been on it before in my 15 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, it was my first time off road in my Raptor. I was simply amazed at the ride quality difference in favor of the Raptor. It smoothed out bumps that might have tossed your head into the side window in the Jeep. Obviously break over angle and maneuverability were in favor of the Jeep but they did not come into play on this particular trail. The extra width made driving with care necessary in some sections. I am impressed with the engineering in the Raptor and am real glad I bought it even though it's on pavement 99.9% of the time. I ran 38 psi in all tires with no issues on this dry rocky trail (CO HWY 119 beginning at the top of Little Valley Road). What a blast!

Yeah we had a 2016 JKUR and I hated it. Only places it could beat the Raptor were places you wouldn't want to take a nice vehicle anyway.

Ride quality in the jeep was worse than in our Trailblazer by a noticeable margin - practically opposite ends of the spectrum for the Raptor.

And while the Raptor can do 80% of the Wranglers tricks, the same cannot be said the other way around...

I will say the JL seems to be a significant improvement, but still, can't hold a candle to our trucks.

Any steep hill descents?

I went to Hungry Valley OHV park in mine a couple months back. Very stable on steep hill ascents and descents. I have an Early Bronco as well and the Raptor is much more stable overall. It never felt tipsy and I was going trying every hill I could find. The bad thing was I had to back out of a few spots because the trail was too narrow to avoid scratching paint on branches or rock faces.

Raptor was obviously a lot of fun in the straights in Baja mode as well...

I'm off-road weekly in my Rap and it is amazing. My typical route is going up mountain access roads to cell towers which can vary in, how should I put this - smoothness (okay, more like a lack of it). There is one road in particular that has been "fun" even though it can be rough through a few sections but the Rap just goes through them without any issues.

Now, if I could one day rip up some desert roads that would be awesome because nowhere out here in NWPA can the Rap really shine in its element.

Just came back from a ROC Raptor Rally in Lander Wyoming. Wow, was I impressed with the ability of the Raptor. 2 days of intense (for me) offroading. It was Awesome! I was able to utilize the descent mode on two rocky steep descents and it worked great.

Gotta love this truck!

I miss my JKUR almost every day, and would never attempt the Rubicon Trail in the Raptor. Some good times gone, but some different good times ahead.

The Raptor would not fair very well on the Rubicon. Lots of dents for sure. Would need winched a BUNCH. I believe it would totally wreck the Raptor. Totally different vehicles.
