Locks it in place and makes for a nice flat surface....Not sure why the mat would need to be die cut for the grooves in the bed though.

Which bed mat did you get for $100. I seen the Gator one but apparently it doesn't fit a Raptor bed. Ok thanks. I figured it fit as I can't see the inside dimensions of the bed being that, if any, different. The people at Realtruck said it wouldn't work but I'm sure they were just going on their website fitment guide.i got the gator for $95 shipped a year ago. It does fit Link
