Here is a set of pics from a recent trip to Canyon de Chelly...:D

As shown on the national park site, it is mandatory to have a permit and guide to drive in the canyon.

So we booked a tour with our own vehicle with Adam Teller, from Antelope tours. He was a great Navajo guide, and we were only his vehicule, and our Raptor. Note that this was in October and the canyon was dry, Adam said they could drive in 2+ feet water during spring.... I just aired down to ~33 PSI as it was very sandy. Please note that this was a cultural tour and we drove very slowly during the 4 hours drive (including stops).

To reach the canyon entrance from the south, we drove on the trail from Window Rock / Fort Defiance, AZ and it was an easy drive.

Stunning pics! I had the pleasure of visiting several years ago....but not in a raptor. I am certain those memories will last a long time. You have a great eye for the photos, please post some more.:cactus::cactus::cactus:

FYI:

Canyon de Chelly National Monument

Reflecting one of the longest continuously inhabited landscapes of North America, the cultural resources of Canyon de Chelly include distinctive architecture, artifacts, and rock imagery while exhibiting remarkable preservation integrity that provides outstanding opportunities for study and contemplation. Canyon de Chelly also sustains a living community of Navajo people, who are connected to a landscape of great historical and spiritual significance. Canyon de Chelly is unique among National Park service units, as it is comprised entirely of Navajo Tribal Trust Land that remains home to the canyon community. NPS works in partnership with the Navajo Nation to manage park resources and sustain the living Navajo community.

It's only about 3 hours from 4 Corners
